Spin Out Records

Over the past 12 months Spin Out Records has grown rapidly to become one of the most important ‘tastemaker’ labels in the UK.  Pioneering artists such as Richard Dinsdale, Hook & Sling, The Aston Shuffle and Lützenkirchen they have constantly pushed musical boundaries and earned the respect of top DJs and musical critics across the world.

Spin Out has been going for only three years, but in that short time has worked with some of the biggest names in dance music such as Meat Katie, Switch, Hyper and Dylan Rhymes.  Label boss Audrey Kocharoff explains ‘we’ve always been about releasing what we like, whether its House, Electro, Techno or Breaks.  We’re an eclectic label and rather than conforming to what’s hot and what’s not, we just go with what we’re feeling and it’s served us well!’ 

The label has also been instrumental in nurturing the careers of developing artists such as Alex Metric, Subsource, Aston Shuffle, Si McEvoy and Caninesounds.  ‘New talent is the reason dance music is so fluid and fast paced’ claims Audrey. ‘We’ve worked with so many artists who have done well with us and also gone on to be very successful in their own right, we’re always looking for new sounds and have been very supportive of up and coming artists through the label’.

Highlights over the past year have included their DJ Download number one release: Hook & Sling’s remix of ‘Subsource – This Town’.  This track was featured as the soundtrack to one of Platform 12’s videos and appeared on a multitude of DJ mix compilations. 

Spin Out also began running regular parties this year and firmly asserted itself as one of the leading club promoters in London.  Successful residencies at Herbal in Shoreditch and The White House in Clapham proved once again that Spin Out was on the money as far as club culture was concerned.
